Orlin Hanson of Sherwood ND is the Economic Development Director.  Orlin brings with him many years of working to promote economic growth in our region.  A former legislator and involvement with the Central North American Trade Corridor Association, have kept him in touch with the needs and trends of rural North Dakota.

RENVILLE COUNTY JOB DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY PROJECTS

 1.  Setting up a Revolving Loan Fund for future economic development.

 2.  Set up Adult learning centers and teach computer classes.

 3.  Set up a Strategic Plan and use it as our guide for future economic development in the area.

 4.  Work with the Northwest Marketing Alliance to help promote all of northwest North Dakota and attract people to our area.

 5.  Actively seek a "Champion Zone" designation from the USDA and later upgrade it to Reap Zone status.
 6.  Working on projects such as:
   a.  Wind Energy development
   b.  Hog feeder barns
   c.  Beef Feed lot
   d.  Tourism
   e.  New businesses in the area.

   May 27th.  65th Annual International Memorial Day program in Sherwood
       Program begins at 10:15 am with the famous handshake and
       exchange of flags at the International Border north of Sherwood.
       The program continues at the Sherwood School at 11:00 am.
